No site updates
There haven't been any updates in a while, I do have time. But that time is being used to develop other sites, mainly Keep It Retro, a retro computer scene portal, supporting users and emulators of any platform released at least 10 years ago. I know that probably sounds like a rather pathetic excuse, but lets be realistic here. #gas.org.uk has a limited audience, and besides uploading megabytes of logs, and the user directory, the site is pretty static. Whereas Keep It Retro is updated daily, appeals to a huge audience and I feel there is a real need for a site like this. Also a site as big as Keep It Retro is going to be, will hopefully draw a lot more interest from prospective employers. :)#gas.org.uk is by no means dead, I will keep the site up to date with the latest goings on but don't expect too much.Take a look here, write me an email with your details in place of mine and I will add you to the user directory. I've been working on a form based thing, but it just takes too much time away from Keep It Retro. |

Small update.
#GAS now has a Google search box. Google is the internets most encompassing search engine, currently tracking over 100,000,000,000 pages! Recommended sites
I've added some random HTML to show a banner for some of my favourite websites, if anyone has some websites they'd like to see added to this, please let me know.
Also some planned sections have been removed from the menu as it they would just be duplication effort found elsewhere.No one wants to make a logo?
So far I haven't recieved a single logo! :-( If you want to make one, the des
ign is completely up to you and all I ask is that it's no wider than 590 pixels. All logo's I recieve will go on the Logo Contributions page and the best one will get used on every page of this site! If I recieve just one logo, it shows to me that what I'm doing here is appreciated and will give me some encouragement to carry on developing, finishing, the site. |

#GAS is alive!!.
My apologies for the long period of non-updating, lots has been happening and I just haven't had time to really do anything with the site.
My local Amiga usergroup has been taking up a lot of my time lately. The guy who was running the whole show decided he'd had enough, several of us now share the workload and i'm the webmaster. Check out the site at www.amigasupport.uklinux.net.We've moved!
We just moved to a new server, www.uklinux.net, who have masses of bandwidth and nice Perl and PHP scripting. Hopefully the site will now be slighter faster than before.
Due to our new hosts scripting, we can cut down the amount of code that has to be repeated, saving precious webspace. This also allows me to write new pages faster than ever, and I'm now creating the site single-handidly. Please feel free to contact me about anything you've seen here. My original one was pretty damn crap, so I asked Lando to create a logo for me, and he created something pretty cool in about 10 minutes! If anyone else wants to create a logo, please do! All contributed logo's will be placed on the "Logo Competition" page and the one I like most will get used all over the site. The only requirements I have is that your logo be no wider than 590 pixels.
Once you've made a logo, DCC it to me on IRC. Or LhA/ZIP it and email it to mike@convergence.org. |
